“The man invests himself anew in his songs every time he plays them” –Penguin Eggs 2009

“...Proof that sometimes we can outdo even our own legends.” –Exclaim! 2008

Robin Hunter is a gifted performing songwriter whose soulful vocals, quick wit and mastery of the slide guitar have won him many fans and friends over the years. His songs are emotionally charged ruminations of the restless human spirit that are musically based in an adventurous mix of roots, soul and country blues.  He began his career in Edmonton, Alberta playing with the Imagineers, a potent combination of rock, blues and punk styles. He moved on to become one of the most sought after guitar playing sidemen in his region, playing electric/ acoustic, bottleneck slide guitar and steel guitar with Old Reliable’s Mark Davis, Wendy Mcneill, and Justin Rutledge among many others. He formed the trio “Robin Hunter and the Six Foot Bullies” in 2002 with John Woroschuk(Dobro,Mandolin) and Thom Golub(Upright Bass) two other well respected and in-demand musicians. Together, they released two albums, 2004’s “Your Heart My Sleeve” and 2008’s “You Just Gotta Get Used Of It.” with all songs written by Robin Hunter. Hunter is working on new songs for another album with the band for 2010. Robin Hunter has relocated to Vancouver BC and is currently playing his brand of acoustic music in venues around the region and is actively searching for bookings.
